The Independent Living philosophy is based on the premise that it is the right and responsibility of all people with disabilities to participate in their communities with as great a degree of freedom as possible. Independent Living supports and advocates for the civil rights of people with disabilities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Sail is commmitted to promoting systems advoacacy as is relevantto the Amerisans with Disabilities Act, within Shenandoah County, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and theUnited States of America. Sail will , by it's existance and by the activities of it's memers, promote a positive image of people with disabilities as contributing and worthy members of our society.
